Gary CardamoneGary Cardomone, PE, Port of Long Beach California 

Mr. Cardomone is the Director of Construction Management for the Port of Long Beach, California and oversees the surveying and construction of the Port's capital improvement program, valued at about $200 million annually.  The Port of Long Beach is one of the world's premier seaports, a trail blazer in goods movement and environmental stewardship, with a Green Port Policy guiding all efforts to protect the environment.  Each year, trade valued at more than $140 billion moves through the Port of Long Beach, supporting more than 316,000 Southern California jobs. 

He has over 25 years experience in port and harbor related development having managed nearly $2 billion dollars worth of improvements in the Southern California Ports.  A registered engineer in the State of California, Mr. Cardamone received his BS degree in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University.  Before serving on CMAA's Executive Committee, Gary served two-terms, as president of CMAA's Southern California Chapter. He was the first public sector owner to ever hold this position. 


David Conover, CCM, CPC, HDR Engineering Inc.

Mr. Conover serves as HDR's National Technical Director of Construction Services, and has more than 30 years of extensive experience in program and construction management.  Projects include water/wastewater facilities, maintenance facilities, tunnels, pipelines, light rail, airports, bridges, highways and buildings.  He is a subject matter specialist for the American Institute of Constructors (AIC) and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), with expertise in project/program management, risk assessment, constructability reviews, value engineering, cost estimating/control, scheduling, document control, alternative delivery methods, claims management, environmental mitigation compliance, project labor agreements, owner carried insurance programs (OCIP), and safety.

He currently serves on the Construction Management Professional Advisory Board at Colorado State University and has served on the UC Davis, CM Certification and Transportation Management Advisory Board. Conover has been a long-standing member of CMAA.  One of his greatest passions is the CCM certification program.  As president of the CMAA Northern California Chapter he won the chapter of the year award, twice.   Currently, Dave serves on CMAA's Executive Committee and as a co-vice chair on the Standards of Practice Committee.


Charles "Rob" Harris, PBS&J

Mr. Harris, PE, CCM, is a senior vice president and national service director for PBS&J’s construction services division with direct responsibility for business development and all construction management and engineering services.  Prior to joining PBS&J in 2000, he spent over 12 years with the Texas Department of Transportation and 3 years with the Houston Astros Baseball Club. 

He has a B.S. in civil engineering from Texas A&M University, is a registered professional engineer in Arizona and Texas, and is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA.  Mr. Harris was program chair for the Houston and Arizona chapters and secretary for the Arizona chapter.  He is also an active member of American Society of Civil Engineers, American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona, and American Public Works Association Arizona chapter.


William Heitz, Heery International

Mr. Heitz is President of Heery International, Inc.  Heery is a world-class firm providing Program Management, CM-at-Risk, and Design services from 30 US locations.  Mr. Heitz has been an integral part of Heery’s growth and expansion for three decades.  He is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm, whose corporate headquarters are in Atlanta.  During his career, he has been actively involved in all facets of the industry, including Architecture, Program Management, and Construction. 

Mr. Heitz is currently on the Board of Directors of the Construction Management Association of America, an organization of which Heery was a founding member.  Mr. Heitz is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with degrees in industrial management and architecture.  He is a registered architect in Maryland and Georgia and a member of the American Institute of Architects.  He is a certified construction manager (CCM) through he Construction Management Association of America, and a LEED Accredited Professional through the US Green Building Council (USGBC).


Ron Kerins, GREYHAWK

Ronald C. Kerins, Jr. CCM is a Senior Executive with GREYHAWK, an international construction management consulting firm. He is a Construction Professional with more than 25 years of experience in all phases of construction management from design though occupancy.  Mr. Kerins’ expertise is in representing owners as a construction consultant in the areas of Project and Program Management, Value Engineering, Contracts and Administration, Cost Control, Scheduling, and Construction Claims.

Mr. Kerins is a Certified Construction Manager [CCM] as conveyed by the Construction Management Certification Institute [CMCI].  He also serves as a director on the national board of CMAA.  Mr. Kerins holds a BS in Architecture and a BS in Civil and Construction Engineering Technology from Temple University as well as an MBA with focus in Leadership Studies from Penn State University.  He is also President of the Temple College of Engineering Alumni Board as well as sits on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Temple College of Engineering.


D.J. Mason III, P.E., Keville Enterprises, Inc.  

Mr. Mason is an Executive Vice President at Keville Enterprises, Inc. in Boston, MA.  In addition to managing Keville’s Boston office, he is responsible for corporate operations and nationwide business development, and he serves as Principal In Charge, Project Executive, and Project Manager on numerous projects. 

Before coming to Keville, Mr. Mason spent nine years as an officer in the United States Navy Civil Engineer Corps.  He then served two years as the Director of Planning and Engineering at Naval Station Long Beach, CA, followed by three years as a Construction Manager at Naval Air Station, Bermuda.  After a year at Penn State University, three years were spent at the Northern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command.  Following this service, Mr. Mason spent five years as a Claims and Change Order Analyst on the Central Artery/Tunnel project.   He has served CMAA as a member of the Foundation Board and for two years as the President of the New England Regional Chapter. 


J. Michael Potter, CCM, PE, RK&K

Mr. Potter, CCM, PE, is a Partner of Rummel, Klepper & Kahl, LLP (RK&K) in charge of the firm’s Construction Management and Inspection division.  His career began as a structural engineer, and then later Mr. Potter joined a construction contractor where he served as project engineer and project manager in charge of major building projects.  For the past 16 years he has represented public owners as an Agency CM on transportation, building and environmental projects. 

Mr. Potter earned his BSCE from Virginia Tech and his MBA from Loyola College of Maryland.  His CMAA experience includes chapter president, contributor to CMAA publications, and is currently on a chapter board of directors.  He sits on the board of the Maryland Association of Engineers and is the Chair of ACEC-MD Construction Services Committee.


Ron Price, CCM,  Parsons Brinckerhoff

Ron Price's construction career spans over 35 years. As a consulting project manager Mr. Price has managed the tenant improvement of his company’s Corporate Headquarters, acted as a City Engineer, managed a Regional Office in Monterey, California, and managed a number of facility programs and projects throughout Northern California for public agencies. 

Mr. Price served honorably in the United States Navy, became licensed as a General Contractor, graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Business, obtained a Certificate in Construction Management from the UC Davis Extension Program where he is now an instructor and is currently a practicing Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and Senior Project Manager.

Ron Price has been a member of the Construction Management Association of America since 1996. Currently Mr. Price sits on the CMAA National Board of Directors and is the Past President of the Northern California Chapter.  Prior positions within the Chapter included Programs Director, and CM Certification Chair.  Ron has also facilitated and presented the CM Standards of Practice Course for the past five years. During the last 9 years Ron has also served as a member and Chapter Director of the American Public Works Association and is a respected project leader within the construction industry in Northern California. 


Steve Routon, PE, HNTB

Steve Routon, PE, is Senior Vice President and National Practice Leader for Construction Management Services at HNTB Corporation.  He provides overall planning, guidance and quality oversight for the firm’s construction management services.  Mr. Routon has a broad range of experience in management of the design and construction of complex transportation facilities and programs ranging up to $5B in construction value.  He has extensive knowledge in constructability, construction phasing and specification review. 
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and is a registered professional engineer in five states. He is a member of CMAA’s Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. He is Chairman of the Professional Development Committee, past Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee, and past editor of the CMAA e-Journal. 


Joe Seibold, PE, PinnacleOne

With more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Seibold has served as a Construction Manager, Senior Claims Analyst and Expert Witness on a variety of private and public works projects such as buildings including private and public/institutional buildings; healthcare facilities; airport facilities; highways & bridges; ports; railways & transit; as well as water supply & wastewater treatment facilities. His combined years of leadership and experience in construction management and claims allow him unique insight into each project.


His experience includes preparing and supervising the evaluation and calculation of construction related delay and disruption damages on more than 100 projects.  He has participated in all forums of dispute resolution including mediation, Dispute Review Boards, arbitration, mini-trials and litigation. His specific efforts have included providing assessments of potential exposure, recommending strategies to resolution and providing expert testimony for both private- and public-sector owners.  Mr. Seibold has authored and presented numerous articles regarding construction management as well as claims analysis and resolution. 

He is a registered, Professional Civil Engineer in California, New York and Colorado.  In addition, Mr. Seibold is the past national President of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).


Mani Subramanian, CCM, AIA, Vanir Construction Management Inc.

Mani Subramanian is the Executive Vice President with Vanir Construction Management, Inc. and serves as the Corporate Director of Project Operations.  In this position, he is responsible for all project operations to ensure that quality of services provided are maintained and enhanced.  He is the past President of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), Northern California Chapter and past chair of the national Construction Management Certification Institute. 

Mani Subramanian is a certified construction manager and a registered architect, and holds a Masters degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Subramanian has provided services as construction manager, project manager, project director, and principal-in-charge for various public facilities programs that include healthcare, correctional, and educational facilities.  He is currently serving as the Principal in Charge of the existing facilities improvement program for the California Prison Healthcare Receivership valued at more than $1 billion dollars.  He specializes in developing and carrying out comprehensive management approaches to complex and multi-faceted capital outlay programs, using multiple delivery systems. Mr. Subramanian has developed and presented training sessions that address various topics related to construction management including alternate delivery systems and Building Information Modeling.
