CMs are tasked with managing risk through the project life cycle. A critically important tool for managing project risk is effective contract administration. This session explores the use of contracts as a risk management technique, including how contracts identify, manage and allocate risk to the project participants who are best able to handle it. This interactive session helps one to identify and understand each project participant’s goals in managing project risk; identify the risks inherent in a construction project; identify risk-sharing and risk management language in construction contracts; and see the value in using CMAA standard contract documents on your next project.
