San Francisco: Where Industry and Imagination Meet!

The red spires of the Golden Gate Bridge rising above a thick fog.
Seals sporting among the piers and pilings of Fisherman’s Wharf.
Cars navigating the switchbacks of Lombard Street.

These are the most famous images of San Francisco, one of America’s most beautiful and storied cities. Frisco is where Joe DiMaggio broke into baseball, Tony Bennett left his heart, and a later generation arrived with flowers in their hair…. where the    Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane invented a new kind of music, and where Sam Spade beat the pavements in pursuit of the fabulously valuable Black Bird.

San Francisco is a city of Gold Rush and earthquake, of Levi Strauss and Domingo Ghirardelli. Alcatraz Island and its notorious prison brood in mid-Bay, and just a short drive away are some of the world’s biggest and oldest trees, as well as some of its finest wine country. Chinatown, which dates from the 1850s, is just one of San Francisco’s many vibrant neighborhoods, abounding in dining, shopping and
sightseeing opportunities.

Whether you’re in search of music (from opera to the latest new thing), theater, museums, golf, sailing, fine food, sports, or a day of boutique browsing, San Francisco is ready to deliver a memorable good time. It’s a great venue for what promises to be CMAA’s best National Conference & Trade Show ever!
