Commissioning — Where the Rubber Meets the Road
This is part three in a four part Green Building series. Participation in each part is independent from the other presentations.
Building commissioning is the systematic process of ensuring that a building’s complex array of systems is designed, installed, and tested to perform according to the design intent and the building owner’s operational needs. The commissioning of new buildings will be most effective when considered throughout the planning stages and as early as schematic design.
Long before green building hit the radar, savvy owners insisted on formal commissioning programs to assure design goals are met. Now LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) requires it. Commissioning planning should start during the design process; find out how to implement commissioning best practices, how it's done, who should perform it and why it often improves the opportunity to achieve on-time and on-schedule project delivery. Hear experienced experts including commissioning experts Amir Yazdi, P.E. of CTG Energetics, and
Tom Poeling, PE, of EMC Engineers, Inc. provide insight gained on dozens of projects of all sizes and types.

In addition, a ten-to-fifteen minute period has been reserved at the end of the panelist presentation for an interactive question-and-answer session so you can gain additional knowledge about topics discussed.
