STUDENT CHAPTER FORMATION

Sixteen student chapters are presently recognized by CMAA.  The student chapter must be hosted by a Regional Chapter in order to be considered an official student chapter of CMAA. The student chapter formation process can be instituted by a college/university or by a Regional Chapter.

Regional Chapters may, at their discretion, create and affiliate with a four-year construction management program at a local college of university.  The Regional Chapter Guide to Forming Student Chapters provides the necessary information.  Additionally, the Student Chapter Manual should be referenced and provided to the prospective student chapter.

Student chapters may also be formed by colleges and universities with four-year construction management programs.  The Student Chapter Manual provides the necessary information and application materials as well as the mandatory yearly reports required of all student chapters in reporting to the Host Regional Chapter.

The Application is reviewed and a host regional chapter is located by staff. The Regional Chapter will provide the primary interface with the student chapter.  Contact Staff Member Martha Montague (336-492-6028) for further information and details on the application process.

STUDENT RECRUITMENT
Encouraging students to join CMAA is an important aspect of membership recruitment.  Courtesy of the CMAA San Diego Chapter, a student recruitment poster is available for other CMAA chapters to edit and use in their own college and university campuses.  Contact Martha Montague for a copy.
