Change Orders: Managing the Inevitable

Changes are inevitable on construction projects. This webinar will discuss the origin and types of changes, and why contract language is so important. Participants will learn how to present and resolve change order claims and how to manage change on construction projects to minimize the impact.

 

About the speakers:

Brian Goodreau, PSP, ENV SP - Brian is the operations director for Arcadis’ Contract Solutions team of experts in construction dispute resolution and project controls in New York City. He and his team of professionals manage the resolution of complex change orders and claims on behalf of public and private owners for major infrastructure and building projects. Brian began his career as project manager and has held positions as a, scheduler, project controls manager, and claims analyst. His experience in the field coupled with his skills of the latest technology provides him with the tools required to resolve the most difficult construction issues.

Cara Roughan, PE - Cara is a dual qualified professional in Engineering and Law with over 18 years of experience in the construction industry. She is a Professional Engineer (PE), holds an LLM and is a Fellow of the Chartered institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Cara has extensive experience in international multidisciplinary projects with stringent time, budget and operational, political and security constraints. She has worked extensively internationally on projects and disputes in the Americas, Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa (Northern and Sub Sahara). She has participated in a range of domestic and international disputes in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in mediation and arbitration. She has also extensive experience in complex litigation proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
