CMAA Virtual Townhall: Emergency Management: The First 72 Hours

CMAA Virtual Townhall’s are interactive events with a panel of subject matter experts that will allow you to submit questions throughout the discussion and worth PDHs and CCM Renewal Points.

Increasingly, the construction industry has seen a need to respond and support local and national government agencies due to emergencies like natural disasters or failures in major critical infrastructure. This Virtual Townhall has a panel of subject matter experts on emergency management that will discuss commonalities in processes surrounding emergency events, as well as their approach in how to effectively respond when the need presents itself to supporting government agencies as Construction Managers.

After attending this program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of a disaster recovery plan and how to manage safety and risks during a crisis
  • Discuss the team coordination efforts that take place between the construction team and government agencies 
  • Identify strategies used to facilitate a functional team working with local and federal agencies while accommodating building code restrictions
  • Illustrate the necessity of quality and risk management as it relates to the public
