An important aspect of managing a construction site or a building is maintaining the ability for nearby occupied spaces to continue functioning in the areas not undergoing work. Noise and vibration generated by construction are critical issues when those spaces include health care, libraries, conference rooms, teaching spaces, and high performance labs. The presence of unwanted noise or vibration can be debilitating. In this webinar, we will discuss the use of real-time construction simulation and monitoring to mitigate these issues. Topics will include investigating tool selection and construction approaches, and to assess the work’s compatibility/incompatibility with existing uses versus the need to relocate building occupants.

Ethan Brush is a senior consultant in the noise and vibration group at Acentech Inc., located in Cambridge, MA. He focuses on analysis and design of vibration mitigation systems for sensitive building spaces, as well as real-time remote monitoring for construction-related noise and vibrations.
