Based on CMAA’s Body of Knowledge, the Virtual Professional CM (PCM) Course is a comprehensive, live, instructor-led course offered over five half-day sessions. This valuable learning opportunity focuses on construction management core competencies and will benefit those wanting sound basic construction management skills, as well as more experienced professionals seeking a refresher or continuing education. It is also recommended by CMAA as effective preparation* for the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) exam.
To get the most out of your experience and to assist the instructors with understanding your needs, please be prepared to use your webcam and actively participate in questions, chat, and polling. Instruction will begin at 8:00 a.m. however, class may end earlier than 1:00 p.m. on some days. An agenda will be provided at the start of the course.
Live instruction covers professional practice, program & project management, contract administration, time management (with lab), quality management, cost management & value engineering, and safety & risk management. BIM and sustainability are available as on-demand sessions through CMAA’s online learning platform. Students are encouraged to view the BIM and sustainability modules prior to the course as instructors will be able to address questions on these modules during the live portion of the course.
*There are no required materials or courses to prepare for the CCM exam and participation in this course does not guarantee a passing exam score. Please review the CCM Applicant Handbook (available under CCM Applicant Resources) for additional information.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:
If for some reason you are unable to attend, you may transfer to another virtual or in-person course at no additional charge within 12 months of the course you originally registered for or you may receive a refund of your original registration rate, less a $350 charge to cover the cost of the Study Kit and Student Workbook. Refund or transfer requests must be made at least 15 days prior to the course start date. No transfers or refunds will be made within 14 days of the course start date.
Your Student Workbook will be mailed directly to you, if purchased more than two weeks prior to the event. You will receive an electronic copy of the Student Workbook if you register two weeks prior to the course or sooner. If you do not receive your Workbook at least five days before the course, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org regarding your order. You will receive an email with instructions for accessing the eBook Study Kit, CCM Practice Exam and CM eGlossary. If you opt to pay extra to order a physical copy of the Study Kit, that order will be processed and shipped upon payment.
Course participants earn 24 PDHs and/or 24 LUs. All AIA reports and NCEES transcripts can be accessed electronically by the participant. Partial credit is not assigned. All 5 days of the course must be completed to receive credit.
A credit value is assigned to CMAA courses and seminars in both Professional Development Hours and Learning Units. CMAA guarantees that course materials meet the requirements for a PDH, which is 60 minutes of instruction, or increments thereof.
CMAA is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as an approved CES provider of Learning Units (LU). One educational contact hour equals one (1) LU. To receive LUs through CMAA, you must provide your AIA member number on all registration materials and attendance forms. Transcripts are available through www.aia.org.
CMAA is a registered provider of continuing education for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).Transcripts and certificates are available through the NCEES/ACEC Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP) at www.rcep.net. All transcripts are reported based on the email address provided to CMAA when you completed the online attendance form or the email address you used to register for an event.
Not all courses and educational activities offered be acceptable for continuing education credit in your state. Please check your state licensing board’s requirements before submitting your credits.
