2023 Leadership Summit

CMAA is hosting a new, annual event for volunteer leaders – The Leadership Summit, June 20 - 21, 2023, at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort. 

Register by Thursday, May 25, 2023 

Overview:

The Summit is an invitation only event and includes two Chapter Officers (e.g., Current President and President-elect or President-elect and one additional Chapter Officer) in addition to national board members, leaders, and committees.

It is designed to provide you, as CMAA’s leading volunteers, with opportunities to:

• Develop as a leader for the association

• Strengthen connections between national objectives and Chapter activities

• Build trust and strengthen relationships between volunteers and staff

• Broadly disseminate information and messages to the volunteer network

• Develop skills you can use to support your growth as leaders within your organizations

The program will include:

• General Sessions: Including an update on the “state of the association,” as well as a speaker on leadership, emotional intelligence, or workplace culture.

• Education Sessions: These focus on association management topics (e.g., use of social media, DEIB programs, advocacy, succession planning, strategic planning, and financial management). Some sessions will be offered twice so as many attendees as possible can participate.

• Meetings: All boards, national committees, and task forces have an opportunity for an in-person meeting and Chapter Officers will meet as a group.

• Social events: In addition to an opening reception and other meal events, the event will conclude with a social activity on the second night for those staying over.

We want to ensure all CMAA Chapters can participate; to do so, CMAA will provide two nights lodging and a $500 stipend for travel costs for two people from each Chapter. If your chapter would like to send additional participants, please contact CMAA.
