There will also be the opportunity to network and build business-related relationships with the possibility to reconnect after the conference. Leadership path opportunities and how to execute them will be valuable takeaways for all present. Luciana Burdi, CCM, Intl. Assoc. AIA, Deputy Director Capital Programs, Massachusetts Port Authority Mary Jane O'Meara , Vice President, HNTB Corporation Creating an Engaged and Diverse Culture Within Your Organization Track: Leadership & Workforce Development
Research suggests the most successful businesses and teams embrace a diverse and inclusive culture. Workplace diversity and inclusion has become an essential ingredient for businesses not only to thrive among competitors, but also to recruit and retain top talent. However, for many organizational leaders, the goal of implementing effective diversity initiatives remains elusive. This workshop will facilitate a discussion on elements that drive inclusiveness, as well as factors that create division and apathy. Attendees will learn strategies to increase awareness and overcome their own biases and fears, as well as understand the differences between diversity, equity, and inclusion; recognize dysfunctional belief systems that lead to stereotyping; and uncover barriers that hold employees back. The goal is for attendees to gain the tools needed to create an atmosphere of acceptance. Lisa White, Ph.D., Leadership Consultant, Integrated Leadership Systems |

Investing in Your Employees? Future (and Your Company?s Too) Track: Leadership & Workforce Development
All construction managers understand the importance of project planning. However, succession planning for an organization is often ignored. While a management succession plan prepares your organization for vacancies of senior leadership, the process can also identify where employee training is needed. The goal of a training program must focus on teaching employees the reasons behind doing a task in a particular way. It is crucial to help all employees, but especially young professionals, understand their role in the organization, both now and into the future. In this presentation, the author of H.R. Gray?s training program will moderate a panel discussion with three of H.R. Gray?s employees, who are in varying stages of the program. Participants will discover why employee development is an important part of any organization?s future success. Bryan Celik, PE, CCM, Senior Construction Manager, H.R. Gray Kathryn DeMuesy, CCM, Project Manager, H.R. Gray Matthew Holdren, CCM, Project Manager, H.R. Gray Chip Scholz, Consultant-Leader Education & Development, Haskell |
