CMAA Announces Key Employee Promotions

McLean, VA, USA – The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) has announced three key promotions today, a move that advances both professional development and certification efforts for the Association.

Nicholas Soto has been appointed to Vice President of Professional Development, a position which brings together both professional development and certification operations to achieve greater efficiencies and delivery to members.

Since 2011, Soto has been responsible for growing the Association’s certification program into what it is today, a credential which has been gaining widespread acceptance and popularity in the construction industry. Under his leadership, the program has grown by more than 300%, a testament to his dedication and success. Previously, he held the role of Vice President of Certification.

In his new role, Soto will provide planning, development, design, and delivery of the Association’s professional educational programs and products for both CMAA and the Construction Manager Certification Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CMAA.

Colin Biddle, former Certification Manager, is now Director of Certification. Since 2017, Biddle has helped drive the CCM Champion program, and has assisted in the transition of the Construction Manager-in-Training program under the purview of the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).

Andrea Pavon, former Certification Associate, is now Certification Manager. She has been instrumental in maintaining a high level of customer service with the rise in program interest and through the growth of the CCM program since 2011.

“Combining our professional development and certification departments brings together the collective wisdom of staff already in place, assures strong leadership for both initiatives, and creates greater alignment for our members, states CMAA President/CEO, Andrea S. Rutledge, CAE. “Nick, Colin, and Andrea are consummate professionals with a focus on accredited education and professional certification and I am confident that together, we will achieve our strategic objectives.”
