Technology Subcommittee

The Technology Subcommittee is an ad-hoc subcommittee of the Professional Development Committee. The subcommittee’s primary responsibility is to keep the Professional Development Committee apprised of the advancements in technology and how it may impact and be used by the industry.

Purpose, goals, and desired outcomes:
Advise the Professional Development Committee on current and future technologies and develop policy statement on uses of technology to support project lifecycle and owner objectives. The committee shall be responsible for identifying needs and providing ongoing educational information to keep members informed about new technologies and on issues relating to technology’s impact on the construction industry.

Duration:
One year, no term limits.

Time commitment:
Monthly committee calls (1-2 hours); attendance at one or both conferences; additional 1-2 hours per month.

Eligibility:
CMAA member in good standing.

Requirements:
Knowledge of CMAA Standards of Practice and general knowledge of and interest in technology in the construction industry and future trends. Interest in education programs preferred.

Key success measurements:
Progress against charge(s); as reported to the board.

Resources available to complete the project or task:
Resources identified by committee as part of meeting charge
