Purpose, goals, and desired outcomes:
- To support the charge to the Professional Development Committee by identifying and prioritizing issues related to sustainability and resiliency practices used in the industry;
- To identify needs for educational programs to keep members informed.
Deliverable(s):
- Providing CMAA members with relevant in-person education and online MCX or other content that addresses and develops members' understanding of the implications for PM/CM professionals of building for resilience;
- Focus26 education session content that is relevant to this topic and the learning level of participants;
- CMAA2026 education session content that continues to develop members' knowledge;
- At least 2 articles for MCX on sustainability topics with a focus on resilience.
Duration:
One year, no term limits.
Time commitment:
Monthly committee calls (1-2 hours); attendance at one or both conferences; additional 1-2 hours per month.
Eligibility:
CMAA member in good standing.
Requirements:
Knowledge of CMAA Sustainability Guidelines and general knowledge of sustainability, energy, climate adaptation, and resiliency planning in the construction industry and future trends. Interest in education programs preferred.
Key success measurements:
Progress against charge(s); as reported to the board.
