The $1.6 billion landmark conversion of the 108-year-old James A. Farley Post Office into a modern, world-class transit, retail, and commercial facility represented an ambitious upgrade to New York City’s infrastructure. As Empire State Development Corporation’s program manager, WSP oversaw the team that delivered this complex project ahead of schedule despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The Train Hall’s design features state-of-the-art security, passenger amenities, and contemporary art, digital connectivity that enhance the passenger experience, and make Moynihan a focal point of the revitalization of Midtown Manhattan, while paying homage to the history of Penn Station.
