Owner: the New York City Housing Authority
Project Team: STV, EIA, Lakhani & Jordan Engineers

Following a catastrophic fire that destroyed vital electrical switches, distribution panels, and feeder cables at seven, 16-story buildings housing more than 2,300 people at the New York City Housing Authority's Jackson Houses complex in the Bronx, STV was contracted as the construction manager to manage the repair and replacement. The $12.3 million project was completed within schedule and under budget based on savings the construction management team was able to produce through innovative planning to gradually reduce the need for costly portable generators to temporarily power each of the high-rise buildings. Additionally, all  work was performed on an emergency basis and contracted just as the global COVID-19 pandemic began, which hit New York City particularly hard.
