Winners Announced for CMAA’s Industry Excellence Awards

McLean, VA, USA – The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) has announced the winners of its 2019 Industry Excellence Awards.

CMAA’s Award Program recognizes excellence in construction management practice and honors companies and individuals each year based on merit. A panel of judges reviews each nomination carefully and chooses the best candidate in each category.

Michael Meredith, Capital Outlay Program Manager, California Department of General Services, has received the CMAA Distinguished Owner Award. This award recognizes an owner member who has made meaningful/extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the construction management profession, such as mentoring, advocating, promoting, and selecting professional construction managers.

 

 


Thomas Dzagan smalThomas M. Dzagan, CCM, Construction Manager, Michael Baker International, has received the CMAA Distinguished Young Professional Award. This award recognizes and celebrates a full-time professional for outstanding professional accomplishments and a commitment to the construction management industry early in his/her career.

 

 



Heather Yates headshotDr. Heather Yates, Program Coordinator, Associate Professor, Oklahoma State University, has been named the CMAA Educator of the Year. This honor emphasizes excellence in teaching and recognizes a full-time educator for outstanding professional accomplishments and a commitment to construction management education.

 

 

 


Joe Mouawad headshotJoe Mouawad, Senior Director of Engineering, Eastern Municipal Water District, has been named to receive the CMAA Leader in Sustainability Award. This award recognizes individuals for outstanding leadership in innovation or best practices in sustainability in the construction management industry.

 

 

 


Terrance DeGray headshotTerrance DeGray, CCM, Program Director, Cordoba Corporation, has been honored with the CMAA Mehdi Heydari CCM of the Year Award. This award recognizes and commends the culture of certification within the construction management industry.
