Project Description: The DigIndy Tunnel System is a 28.6-mile series of six deep rock tunnels that can store and convey up to 290 million gallons of combined sewer overflows during wet weather events in Indianapolis. All captured flows are conveyed by gravity to Citizens Energy Group’s Southport Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant, where flows are lifted nearly 300 feet from the tunnel system and into the plant via Citizens 90mgd Deep Tunnel Pump Station.
