The project’s 230-day contract term included a strict 18-day window originally scheduled for July 2020 that carried a completion target of just 10 days. When COVID-19 restrictions halved the average daily traffic rates, Caltrans proposed starting the project nearly three months early. With just two weeks to accomplish preconstruction efforts, Myers began construction in April and finished in just six days.
