[Chapter] Site Tour: Portland Columbia Blvd STEP - Solids Facility

Join us for a site tour of the City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant (CBWTP) Secondary Treatment Expansion Program (STEP). Our first tour of the project focused on the completion of the new secondary clarifiers in October of 2024. This tour will focus on the new Solids Facility as it nears completion and begins startup.

The overall $500-million construction program provides CBWTP with two new secondary clarifiers, new return activated sludge pump station, new mixed liquor and return activated sludge piping, structural surface rehabilitation of the secondary treatment aeration basins, demolition of existing facilities to allow for new facilities, substantial subsurface soil improvements, main electrical substation replacement, new solids dewatering and thickening facility, new solids loadout facility, new steam boiler plant, new storage and operational support buildings, and temporary facilities to maintain plant operation during demolition and construction.

PPE required is pants, boots (sturdy close-toed shoes at a minimum – no high-top sneakers), hard hat, eye protection, and high vis vest. We will have to turn people away in shorts or open-toed shoes.

Directions and parking instructions will be sent to event attendees.

[Chapter] 2026 - Owner's Roundtable

A Fast-Paced, Small-Group Conversation with the Southeast’s Leading Owners

Our most interactive program of the year is back! The CMAA-SAC Owner’s Roundtable offers a unique “speed-dating” style format that gives attendees meaningful, small-group time with top public and private owners from across the region.

Participants will rotate through a series of timed discussions with owners based on their selected preferences, creating focused opportunities to ask questions, gain insights, and understand what these organizations expect from their project partners in 2026 and beyond.

Hear directly from the leaders shaping major capital programs as they share perspectives on procurement, delivery strategies, upcoming opportunities, and the challenges influencing today’s construction landscape. With candid dialogue and direct access to decision-makers, the Owner’s Roundtable delivers valuable takeaways you won’t find in a traditional panel setting.

If you’re looking to build stronger relationships, understand owner priorities, and elevate your impact in the AEC industry, this is a must-attend event.
